(SMx-tS04): Time Waits For No One**

A “Sound Matter Moment”

I’m always looking for overlooked deep tracks to feature on Sound Matters Radio, I discovered the undiscovered gem, “Time Waits for No One” from the Rolling Stones’ 1974 It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll album while listening to the excellent, The Deep End Radio Show with legendary radio host, Nick Michaels.

This moody Stones tune has a great arrangement, complex musicianship, and an overall feel that’s both haunting, yet inspiring at the same time. It’s a brilliant piece with exceptional guitar work by the vastly underrated mid-period Stone, Mick Taylor. I’ve heard it called “the best Stones song nobody ever talks about.”

Arguably better than the music, is the tune’s bittersweet message. Time’s a vapor; it moves quickly. We have to move with it because it won’t wait. It’s called change. Time is everyone’s most valuable commodity that cannot be recovered once spent.

“Time can tear down a building or destroy a woman’s face | Hours are like diamonds, don’t let them waste” ~ Rolling Stones

The hours are ours individually. So spend them wisely.

If you’re a creator of content of any type, keep planning, keep moving forward, and most importantly… keep producing your passions. You never know who or when you will find someone, or someone will find you and feel you if know what I mean… Take comfort in knowing that being ahead of your time perhaps, is better than being behind the times… even if your “success” comes some 40 years later.

“I couldn’t wait for success, so I went ahead without it.” ~ Jonathan Winters

Stay tuned-in…
